Nurse to Nurse / Field notes

Perspective for the
road ahead.

Short reflections to help you get more from your next career conversation.

01 / Before the offer

Decide what a good assignment means to you.

Write down the three things that would make an assignment work for your life. They might be location, schedule, clinical fit, or time close to home.

Use those priorities when comparing options. A strong headline rate can be worth considering alongside the costs, expectations, and compromises it brings.

02 / Before the start

Turn assumptions into questions.

If you are counting on block scheduling, a particular float arrangement, or specific time off, ask how that detail will be documented.

Bring the same curiosity to onboarding: who is your first point of contact, what training is included, and what must be completed before you arrive?

03 / Between chapters

Make room to reassess.

Experience can change what you want from nursing. Take time to name what you would like more of—and what you would like to do differently.

A useful next step might be a recruiter conversation, a meeting with a unit educator, or simply a clearer description of the work and life you want.

A little clarity goes a long way

Where do you want
to go from here?

Start with your priorities. Bring your questions.
Let’s make room for your next chapter.
